Unbiblical Responses to Suffering

March 01, 2020

Passage: Isaiah 30:1-7 Speaker: Pastor Jon Kopp Series: Suffering for the Glory of God

Length: 34 mins 43 secs Plays: 166

Speaker: Jon Kopp - In his letter to a group of Christians under pressure, Peter exhorts them, “Be sober-minded; be watchful…the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Pet. 5:8). One way to be watchful is to be aware of unbiblical responses to suffering. The more we do, the more equipped we’ll be to respond in a God-honoring way. So for this study, we will look at five unbiblical responses to suffering. And keep in mind that we are not so much looking for gaps in the theology that we profess with our mouths—though some of those gaps may well exist—but gaps in the theology we show in our lives. Where are there gaps in your practical theology that will trip us up when times of suffering come our way?
