MESSAGES BY SERIES:

Biblical Theology

Biblical theology as a discipline is a way of reading the Bible, a hermeneutical strategy that refuses to turn God’s story into life’s little answer book, but rather recognizes it as the grand story that gives our stories meaning. You may be familiar with Systematic theology that begins with key topics like God, man, sin, Christ, salvation, etc., and then searches the Scriptures to see what they teach about them. Biblical theology by contrast is the discipline of learning how to read the Bible as one story by one divine author that culminates in the person and work of Christ, so that every part of Scripture is understood in relation to Christ.
