Passage: Titus 1:5-9 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Truth that Transforms

Length: 50 mins 36 secs Plays: 1372

Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Paul wanted Titus to take care of several unfinished tasks in Crete, and he referred to them in the body of his letter. Titus was supposed to organize the churches, refute false teachers, instruct in sound doctrine, and teach godly conduct. But the primary task Titus was supposed to accomplish, was the appointment of elders in every Cretan town where Christian congregations existed. A rightly ordered church needed elders who were exemplary in their marriage and family, their personality and character, and in their devotion to and communication of God’s word. Elders were meant to be models of how truth transforms life. So, Titus was supposed to pursue qualified elders to lead quality churches for the glory of God. May the Lord teach us the importance of having plural, local, and qualified elders to lead the church in gospel mission.
