Speaker - Steve Petit: This morning, we have the privilege of hearing from a man that God has used greatly in the lives of many of our core team here at Gospel Grace Church. Steve Pettit has had a direct discipleship relationship with all of the pastoral team families and many of our members. His impact on our philosophy and style of ministry cannot be measured. Steve is a native of Columbia, SC, and was converted to Christ at the age of nineteen while a freshman at The Citadel, the military college of SC. He surrendered to the call to preach, and upon his graduation in 1978, he enrolled at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where he received a masters degree in pastoral studies in 1980. After serving as the youth pastor at First Baptist Church, Bridgeport, MI, for five years, Steve, along with his family travelled as an evangelist for 29 years. In May of this year, Steve became the president of Bob Jones University, a Christian liberal arts college in Greenville, SC. In 1980 he married his lovely wife, Terry, and they have three adult children: Rebecca, Rachel, Stephen, and one teenage son, Michael.
