Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In our short summer series on missions, we want to look at the intersection of giving and going. How is it that “gospel goers” are going to be able to leave their homes, cross cultures, and extend the fame of Jesus? Well, in God’s plan, missionaries are to be supported by the church. In the short epistle of 3 John, we learn about a man named Gaius who had an exemplary attitude toward missionaries. He was welcoming and generous to those who preached the truth. So, the apostle says, “Beloved… imitate good.” In other words, mimic Gaius’ example and support those who go out for the sake of Jesus’ name. May the Lord give us glad and generous hearts as we support missions.
