God's Power, Our Confidence

Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:1-7 Speaker: Danny Brooks Series: Standalone Messages

Length: 50 mins 49 secs Plays: 377

Speaker: Danny Brooks - Christians may confidently proclaim the gospel because we have been positioned for ministry by the mercy of God and because God is the one who powerfully gives the light of the knowledge of Christ through the gospel. We are jars of clay, but the surpassing power of the gospel and our ministry lies in God alone. Our weakness coupled with our refusal to use disgraceful or manipulative means, could never produce the powerful, re-creative effects that the gospel produces. Paul insists that the weakness of the jars of clay demonstrates that ministers of the gospel deserve no glory for their work. God chooses weak creatures to minister the gospel so that it will be all the more clear that the power is His. So we speak boldly, openly, humbly, and confidently and wait eagerly for those glorious moments of conversion where God says, “Let light shine out of darkness!”
