He indicates that believers are supposed to practice good works, cultivate goodwill, and seek to share the good news with those around them. When the cultural presence of ungodliness and the difficult pressures from government invade the Christian community, believers need to remember that they were once lost and spiritually destitute. And they’d still be there without the goodness, lovingkindness, mercy and grace of God. When darkness and sin characterized our lives, God broke in and saved us by his grace. Remembering that should flavor our interaction with the world around us. May the Lord remind us today that we once were lost, but now we’re found. May that gospel of grace resound.
