Passage: Luke 12:49-13:9 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: Luke - Past Promises, Present Redemption
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In the unfolding of the gospel of Luke, we’ve discovered a shift in chapter 9 where Jesus set his face towards Jerusalem. He teaches and travels, but it’s in one direction – that of the cross. In our text this weekend (Luke 12:49-13:9) Jesus explains that his purpose is to do more than healings, exorcisms, and various miracles. He has come to bring judgment as well, and those who are wise will interpret the signs of the time. Jesus wants us to understand his coming work of judgment, turn to him in repentance, and be saved before it’s too late. May the Lord turn our hearts to him so that we might be set at peace today.
