The Christmas season is in full swing, and now more than most other times, we turn our attention to Bethlehem 2000 years ago and a Baby born in a manger. Who is that baby? Why did He come? And what is the big deal about God with us. This morning, we will focus our attention on the truth that the baby in the manger is God. He is deity. There is no more important biblical truth for the life and health of our church and every church than the deity of Christ. We can’t overemphasize the significance of that truth for our life as believers and a church. Our lifeblood depends on who Christ is as God and what He has done by dying and rising again. Turn your attention to Jesus this morning, our Emmanuel--our God with us. But, the true Christ of Scripture deserves more than admiration and attention. He is the eternal Word in Jesus born in Bethlehem. He is God and man in one person and deserves all our worship and praise as the One mediator between us and God. We must respond to the truth that Jesus is fully God. Today, would you seek to apply God’s word to your heart? How do you need to live? What do you need to believe?
