Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Repentance and renunciation of sin bring God’s mercy and blessing. Our text this morning from Proverbs 28:13 captures the theology of forgiveness woven throughout the pages of scripture. It summarizes themes found in 1John 1:6-9 and Psalm 32:1-5. The contrast is between one who conceals his sins and one who confesses and renounces them. The former will not prosper, but the latter will experience God’s mercy. May the Lord soften our hearts, expose our sin, and lead us to confession today. May the balm of his mercy be applied to our needy hearts.
