Displaying God's Love
It is the desire of the Gospel Grace Disability Ministry to obey God’s word in helping to carry the burdens of those affected by disabilities at GGC. Our aim is to build meaningful relationships where Christ’s love is displayed. We do so by partnering with people with disabilities and their families so that they might participate in GGC programs and grow in Christ and in fellowship.
Our ministry meets during the 11:15am Sunday service in a downstairs classroom.

The Need
Of the 61 million American adults living with some sort of disability there are 2.5 million who, statistically speaking, should be attending church but don't (Joni & Friends). Those affected by disability are less likely to hear the word of God and participate in church life. It is our desire to build an intentional place at Gospel Grace for those affected by disability--for we are all God's masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10).

Our Volunteers
Our team is filled with empathic, patient, creative and self-controlled followers of Christ. We welcome those who understand disability care as a necessary component of a healthy church body, and seek to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. Volunteers are required to complete a background check, agree to follow GGC child protection policy and complete initial and ongoing training. Additionally, we require that volunteers commit to serving once every four weeks. Volunteers will fill the role of "Disability Mentor." Mentors accompany children and adults with disabilities to participate in service, kid's church and the special needs classroom. Above all, mentors work to build an authentic discipling relationship with their buddy and the families they serve.
