Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Easter amid COVID-19 just feels weird. There are so many traditions and habits of church life that just won’t be the same this year. All of our “usual’s” have been unwillingly exchanged for “unusual’s.” Live services have been traded for livestream. Congregational singing has been replaced with tremoring solos in people’s living rooms. And a gathered community has been exchanged for scattered Christians here and there throughout the city. So, what are we supposed to do with Easter? Well, when all the stuff on the circumference is taken away, we have to get back to the center. We have to get back to the person of Easter – Jesus. What are we supposed to do with Easter this year? Here it is simply: we need to know Christ, grow in Christ, and go tell others about Christ. That’s what the resurrection account in Matthew 28 describes. May the Lord help us to focus our hearts on the risen Jesus of Easter who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
