Passage: Luke 3:21-4:13 Speaker: Pastor Lukus Counterman Series: The Gospel of Luke - Past Promises, Present Redemption
Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Welcome back to our study through the gospel of Luke. As you may remember, we worked our way through the birth narratives of John the Baptist and Jesus, and then studied the baptism of repentance at the Jordan River. John was calling Israel to repent and realize that their Jewish lineage was insufficient for a right relationship with God. John was preparing the way for the coming messianic king. That’s where we are this week. The spotlight turns from John’s ministry to Jesus, and it happens with this interesting baptismal scene. As we look at Luke 3:21-4:13 this week, we’ll discover that Jesus is the Son of God, and we are blessed because of that. May the Lord teach us and change us as we encounter his word. Man can’t live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
