For our message time this week in Romans 14, God’s Word will address how we are to love those who are different from us. In continued application from Romans 14:1-12, the Apostle Paul tells us that because of the gospel, Christians live in deference to one another. Would you ask yourself, “How do I get along with those that have made different choices than I have on the non-essentials of the Christian life?” Paul goes so far as to say that the work of God can actually be hindered by whether or not you and I love rightly in this regard. Romans 14 teaches us that to show deference to those that live differently is to love them, and God is pleased when the church lives in that kind of loving fellowship and harmony. Today, allow the truth that God spanned the gap between you and Him by infinitely lowering himself at the cross for you to adjust how you treat those that are different! Perhaps the application questions that Pastor Lukus has provided can help you assess how you can better live in unity with those that are different from you. Let’s be doers of the Word and not hearers only!
