Speaker: Jared Mitchell - As we seek to reach our community, our friends, our co-workers, and our family with the gospel, one the greatest questions we can ask is, “What is Jesus’ perspective of the lost?” “What was his mindset towards people that weren’t His followers?” Matthew 9:9-12 points us to three powerful perspectives of Jesus that will encourage and help us impact the people that God has put in our day to day lives who don’t know Him. The first truth we see in this passage is that Jesus went out of his way to show love lost people. His love towards those who were lost had no limits. Secondly, we see that He was simply their friend. Jesus made a point to spend time and hang out with lost people. In fact, he had a reputation for being a “friend to sinners.” Lastly, Jesus saw lost people as sick spiritually and in need of Savior. How amazing would it be if we followed Jesus’ perspective of the lost? It would be life changing! Let’s pray that the very love that Jesus has for us and others motivates us to do the same by His grace!
