Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Isaiah 12 displays what God will do when he establishes his kingdom and it kindles an attitude of praise, joy, thanksgiving and victory. There seems to be some connection between this song of praise, and the one sung by Moses and the people after crossing the Red Sea (Ex. 15). As God was the salvation of the Israelites at the exodus, so God will become the salvation of future generations. He is the source of salvation, like a well, a fountain of life (Is 55:1; Ps 36:9; Jer. 2:13; John 4:10-14). In response to this, the community of believers (seen by the shift from singular to plural) is encouraged to worship and praise the greatness of God. Glorify him, exalt him, spread his name and make him known in all the earth. There is a beautiful collision of worship and witness as the goodness of God is proclaimed.
