Passage: Ecclesiastes 5:1-7 Speaker: Pastor Jon Kopp Series: Standalone Messages

Length: 52 mins 59 secs Plays: 645

Speaker: Jon Kopp - In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon systematically uncovers the emptiness in all of life’s pursuits. Wisdom, folly, work, leisure, money, possessions, success, power, pleasure, control and understanding—all of life—will leave us empty without God at their center. In today’s text, Solomon he has turned his attention to the pursuit of a relationship with God, and he uncovers that in life under the sun, even a pursuit of a relationship with God can leave us empty. But, Solomon doesn’t uncover the problem only to leave us in frustration, he uncovers the problem to point us to what truly matters—even as we approach God Himself. What is the One thing truly matters above all else? “The end of the matter, all has been heard, fear God and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man.” (Ecc. 12:13)
